Column: Tips to avoid dog bites
When ToI questioned officials on this case, there was an uncomfortable silence on the other side. The answer came http://freedoghandbook.com/dog-birth-control-shots-could-limit-populations/ out in small, hesitant dozes after a good 10 minutes " the gist being that they do have a provision for sterilization projects, but no funds whatsoever. Moreover, officials also stated that there had been no meeting over the project for the past one year. It was confined to papers inside files wrapped in strong red tape. The Animal Welfare Board was supposed to decide on whether MC should go for a rudimentary process of sterilization, or just a half-an-hour process of snapping the reproduction tube in dogs. A senior official revealed: "We sterilized 4,000 dogs when the project was launched in 2008, but since then, no stray dog has been sterilized to date. We are bound from both sides " the Animal Welfare Board is not making any decision on this, and we can"t shift these dogs away from the city, as animal welfare activists will start hounding us. We can"t even give the canines killer injections." There have been about 400 cases of dog bites this year so far, according to official records.

EDMONTON The owner of a pitbull terrier in Edmonton is in the city bylaw doghouse after the canine decided to test the power of its bite on a police officers leg. The officers were called to an overnight disturbance at a central-area apartment. Police say they almost had the situation under control when the dog came out of a room and attacked. The officers couldnt use their guns to stop the animal because they were inside the apartment. The bite just broke the officers skin, and animal control staff were called in to collar the pitbull. Police say criminal charges are unlikely. (CHED) Leave a Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
