It happened around 8:30 Wednesday night, near 81st and Mingo, at Cascada Apartments. Officers say the boy was on the floor eating food and the dog came over and tried to grab some from him. When the child started playing with the dog, described as a 20-pound mixed breed dog, police say it bit him on the face. Police say the dog belongs to the household and was kept inside the apartment. They say it will be quarantined by animal control until they can determine whether it has rabies. Police say they don't yet know how severe the boy's injuries are.
