Skunk bites dog at Greensboro home

4-year-old dog survives rattlesnake bite in eye

The skunk was at the address when officials arrived. The animal control officer captured the animal. It was later euthanized at the shelter, said Scott Greene, manager of Guilford County Animal Control. The skunk will not be tested to determine if it did, in fact, have rabies. "The dog was current on its (rabies) vaccine, so there's no need for the skunk to be tested," Greene said. "The dog will just get a booster shot.

But Morgan says more insurers in Florida are dropping their coverage. That can work to the advantage of dog owners, because many lawyers wont take a dog bite case unless there is money to be made from the insurance company. Morgan says dog owners should be doing much more to keep their pets out of trouble. The best thing to do on your property, if you have a dog, no matter how sweet the dog is, put up a bad dog sign. That can protect you if someone comes on the property that is not a guest of yours and gets harmed, Morgan said.

I-Team: Dog bite cases in FL cost owners millions

Cllr Kevin Blencowe, who represents Petersfield on the city council, attended a meeting with dog owners on the issue. Afterwards, he said: Dog walkers go to the cemetery at all times of the day, including the very early morning, and the practice over the years has been to let the dogs off the lead when its quiet and theres nobody about. I think dog owners were taken aback by the sudden change and I think a sensible way forward was resolved, to suspend the order. I would be surprised now if the strength of feeling is not acknowledged. There would still be the opportunity to deal with dogs running loose if there are problems with a particular animal because the under direction order can apply. Orders which have been imposed by the city council across the city now ban dogs from some childrens play areas, bowling greens, tennis courts and outdoor paddling pools.

Dog owners bite back at lead order for Cambridge cemetery

Sometimes it's their way of saying "stop." Here is an example: I was at my aunt's home in Atlanta, Ga., years ago. My aunt was ill and she had two gigantic German Shepherds in a fenced-in back yard: one named Titan and the other named Zeus. I was told that they only respond to my auntthey were one-woman dogs. The problem was they hadn't been checked on in a couple of days because of my aunt's illness. Someone had to check on these guys and the responsibility fell on dog-boy, or me, for the job.
