Dog bites toddler outside Ware school
Loudenburg is not releasing the dogs owners name at this time as the case is still under investigation. The owner had the dog on a rope but was unable to gain control of the dog, Loudenburg said. The owner tried to yell at the girl to stay back but the dog jumped up and bit her once. The dogs bite caused one laceration and two puncture marks to the girls inner left bicep, he said. The dogs owner applied pressure to the wound after getting the dog back inside her home. The girl was able to ride her bike home and the dogs owner followed in her vehicle to inform the girls mother what happened. The girls mother transported the girl to the Avera Queen of Peace Emergency Room where she was treated and released. The girl received seven stitches, Loudenburg said.

A TWO-YEAR-OLD was bitten by a dog tied to school gates. The attack happened on Monday morning (July 1) outside Kingshill Infant School in Ware at their pedestrian entrance from Popes Row. It is believed the dog owner is a parent of a child at Kingshill or St Marys Junior School, which shares the site. One father of a child that attends Kingshill blasted dog owners who leave their dog at the gates to enter the premises. Im amazed it hasnt happened before, he said. Its a problem that really needs addressing. He said he has seen up to 20 dogs left unattended attached to the rails before. Some are not tied tightly http://dogfriendlydirectory.com/?p=37 enough to the railings and are free to approach children walking through the narrow gate opening, he added.
