Dog Bites Woman, Man Bites Dog

Caren Henry was out walking her own dog when, This dog came racing across this yard, a big dog." The dog knocked her down and started biting her face, seriously injuring her nose. As the attack was happening, Caren's husband, Laine, was driving by. He immediately sprang into action: Caren turned and looked at me and I seen her face was nothing but blood, so I bit the dog literally in the nose and he let go and I grabbed our dog and I grabbed her and I put them in our pick-up and took off, he told the local NBC affiliate . The county has no vicious dog ordinance, so the dog who attacked Caren does not face the threat of being put down. [Shutterstock]

Dog bites Millcreek boy

According to Nadrich, I don't need to look at statistical data to know that dog bite cases are on the rise. My own dog bite law firm has experienced a gradual increase in dog bite consultations over the past few consecutive years, and some of the stories are just heartbreaking. Of course, we always see an increase in dog bites during the summer, but this is proving to be more serious than just the usual summer spike. The numbers are increasing year round. Nadrich also noted that in California, dog owners are almost always liable when one of their dogs bites or attacks a human being or animal. Here in California, we have a concept known as strict liability. It says that if your dog bites someone, the legal responsibility falls on your shoulders.

Dog Bites Insurance Companies: Man's Best Friend Behind One-Third of All Homeowner Claims

In general, the fact that you have a dog doesnt factor into what rate you pay for homeowners insurance. But as the New York Times noted , once a dog bite takes place at your home, the insurer could raise the premium or even exclude dog-related injuries from coverage. Some animal cruelty prevention societies report that homeowners have been denied insurance because they own certain high-risk breeds of dogs, including Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. A couple of states outlaw breed profiling, but most states allow insurance companies to deny or cancel coverage if a certain breed of dog is living at the home. Earlier this year, for instance, a Colorado womans homeowners policy was canceled after an insurance agent had stopped by the house to check on a plumbing claim and discovered that a Pit Bull was in residence. The dog wasnt involved in the claim at all, and had never bitten anyone, the owner said. (MORE: Overindulge Much?

Dog Bites Increasing in Orange County, CA – Noted Dog Attack Lawyer Jeff Nadrich Comments

The boy, from Millcreek, was released from Saint Vincent Health Center after receiving stitches for his wounds, said Tim Stevenson, Millcreek animal enforcement officer. He did not identify the boy or the owners of the dog. The dog has its rabies shots and other vaccinations, Stevenson said. The Rottweiler was on a leash, but it bit the boy while he was on a climbing gym at the park, Stevenson said. The park is at West 10th Street and Oakmont Avenue. The dog is being quarantined by its owners at their Millcreek house for 10 days.
